An Israeli doctor says, “Medicine in my country is so advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks.”
A German doctor says, “That is nothing, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in TWO weeks.”
A Russian doctor says, “In my country, medicine is so advanced that we can take half a heart out of one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in TWO hours.”
The Texas doctor, not to be outdone, says, “You guys are way behind, we recently took a man with no brains out of Texas, put him in the White House for eight years, and now half the WORLD is looking for work.”
One sunny day in 2009, an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue where he'd been sitting on a park bench.
He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, 'I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.'
The Marine looked at the man and said, 'Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.'
The old man said, 'Okay' and walked away.
The following day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, 'I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.'
The Marine again told the man, 'Sir, Mr. Bush is no longer president and no longer resides here.'
The man thanked him and again walked away.
The third day, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine, 'I would like to go in and meet with President Bush.'
The Marine looked at the man and said, 'Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Bush. I've told you that Mr. Bush is no longer the president and no longer resides here. Do you understand?'
The old man looked at the Marine and said, 'Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.'
The Marine snapped to attention, saluted, and said, 'See ya tomorrow.'
I have to say I like this guy. He is clearly very intelligent, well-spoken and charming. The son of a blacksmith, he was plucked from academic obscurity to rise to his position. I know, he's said some controversial things about Israel and the holocaust. Personally, I would love to see us drop Israel as an ally. Our association with them has been nothing but trouble for us from the beginning. How long must we endure the hatred of the Muslim world in the name of "standing by our allies"? What benefit has the U.S. ever received from being allied with Israel? Ahmadinejad has made every effort to meet and speak with American and European journalists and dignitaries, and the U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Annan said that Ahmadinejad was open to talks and negotiations, but he refused to halt his nuclear enrichment plans. Finally someone with the balls to stand up to our chicken-hawk president. The U.N. security council claims that Iran has been hiding their nuclear program for 18 years. I don't know about that, but 18 years is a long time. Why is it a problem only now? It couldn't have anything to do with Bush's money-making military bullying, now when his popularity is rock bottom, could it? Besides, if I was the leader of a non-U.N.-member country, why should I feel pressured to disclose anything at all to the U.N. about what type of energy we want to develop? How did that become their business? Until they've actually made a verifiable weapon, can we give Iran the benefit of the doubt? Take them at face value? Ahmadinejad has suggested that the U.S. is still holding a grudge from 29 years ago when the (U.S.-ally) Shaw of Iran was overthrown by the Ayatollah Khomeini and he fled to the U.S. Is it not possible that Ahmadinejad simply wants his country to enjoy clean energy? In addition to the U.S. and U.K., Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, France, Japan, Russia, Sweden and even Pakistan (for chrissakes) have nuclear energy. Who has ever suffered a nuclear accident? The U.S. and Russia. Who has ever dropped nuclear weapons on other human beings? The U.S. By what right does Bush or the U.N. decide who deserves to be allowed to use nuclear energy?
